UX Lab Research Capabilities

ResearchServices

Qualitative, UX, accessibility and field research in Bangladesh for international organizations, product teams and development programmes.

Research partnership

Research grounded in context, structured for decisions

Userhub works with organizations that need to understand people, service contexts and barriers before making product, programme or service decisions.

We can lead a defined research workstream or contribute to a wider study led by an international consultancy, development organization, foundation, technology team or public institution. In Bangladesh, this can include adapting research to local context, engaging participants, coordinating field delivery, analysing evidence and producing outputs that can be used by the wider team.

The objective is not simply to collect data. It is to preserve the research question, methodological intent and participant context while producing evidence that supports a clear decision.

Relevant to

  • International and multi-country studies
  • Digital products and platforms
  • Public and development services
  • Programme and service research

What we can do

Research capabilities for different kinds of uncertainty

Different decisions require different forms of evidence. Userhub combines qualitative, evaluative and field-based approaches according to the research question, participants and operating context.

Qualitative & Mixed-Methods Research

Understand behaviours, motivations, constraints and differences in experience that metrics alone cannot explain. This is useful when an organization needs to understand why patterns occur, how people interpret an experience, or what conditions influence adoption and use.

Research may include interviews, group discussions and contextual inquiry, integrated with quantitative evidence where the research question requires both depth and broader pattern comparison.

UX & Usability Research

Understand how people use digital products, prototypes, workflows and information. This is useful when teams need to identify where tasks break down, what users misunderstand, which interactions create unnecessary effort, or whether a proposed experience works in realistic use.

Methods may include moderated usability testing, task-based evaluation, prototype research, user interviews and localized Bangla or English testing where appropriate.

Human-Centered & Service Research

Understand problems that extend beyond a single interface into journeys, channels, organizations and real-world service conditions.

Research can examine how people encounter a service, where they need support, what influences adoption or trust, and how experiences change across touchpoints or stakeholder groups. Relevant approaches may include contextual inquiry, journey research, stakeholder research and participatory methods.

Accessibility & Inclusive Research

Identify barriers that affect people's ability to access, understand and use digital services.

Userhub can combine standards-based accessibility evaluation with investigation of interaction, comprehension and service barriers. This is particularly relevant to digital products and public services where accessibility and inclusion are part of overall experience quality rather than an isolated compliance exercise.

Field Research & Research Operations

Support or lead Bangladesh-based research where local interpretation, participant engagement and field coordination need to remain connected to the study's analytical purpose.

Work may include localization, participant recruitment, moderation, field coordination, documentation and contextual interpretation. This is particularly relevant to international teams that need reliable Bangladesh research delivery without separating field execution from the wider research question.

Local research delivery

Research delivery in Bangladesh

Userhub can own or support the Bangladesh research workstream within a wider international study while preserving the research question, methodological intent and participant context.

The work may begin with adapting instruments, terminology and participant criteria to local conditions. Field delivery can then include recruitment, consent-aware coordination, Bangla or English moderation, researcher coordination, documentation and translation or transcription where appropriate.

Research operations remain connected to analysis. Contextual factors that affect interpretation are documented, emerging issues can be discussed with the wider research team, and evidence can be synthesized into English-language outputs for international programmes, evaluations or product decisions.

Structured operating scope

  • Instrument adaptation and localization
  • Participant recruitment
  • Consent-aware field coordination
  • Bangla and English moderation
  • Researcher coordination
  • Research documentation
  • Translation or transcription where appropriate
  • Contextual interpretation
  • Analysis and English-language reporting

How research moves

From research question to decision

Research is most useful when the question being investigated remains connected to fieldwork, analysis and the decision that follows.

  1. Frame

Clarify the decision, uncertainty and evidence needed.

  2. Adapt

Translate the study into appropriate participants, methods and local context.

  3. Conduct

Gather evidence with attention to consistency, consent and research quality.

  4. Interpret

Examine what participants do, say and experience within the surrounding context.

  5. Synthesize

Identify patterns, differences, barriers and implications across the evidence.

  6. Report

Translate findings into priorities, recommendations or decision-support outputs appropriate to the engagement.

This approach can support a focused UX study or a defined research workstream within a larger programme or evaluation.

Research-informed practice

Applied work supported by research and methodological learning

Userhub's applied practice is complemented by open research and methodological publishing in areas including digital accessibility, human-centered research, digital services and evaluation.

Selected published research

Published research does not replace project evidence. It provides additional empirical and conceptual grounding for areas in which Userhub researches, evaluates or develops methods.

Next step

Start a research conversation

Research engagements are scoped around what the organization needs to understand, who needs to be involved, where the work will take place and how the evidence will be used.

Share the research question, product or programme context, intended participants, geography and any wider study requirements. UX Lab can then identify the appropriate engagement route and the role Userhub can take within it.
