Opportunity
UI Design Instructor, AI-Assisted Interface Design
Userhub Institute is seeking a UI Design Instructor to support live online teaching in interface design, Figma workflows, and AI-assisted design practice. Applicants will be evaluated primarily on portfolio quality, practical experience, and teaching ability.
Opportunity record
Userhub Institute is expanding its live online teaching capacity in UI design and AI-assisted interface design. We are looking for an instructor who can help early-stage learners understand interface design as a practical discipline, not only as tool use or visual styling.
The role is suitable for someone who can demonstrate design decisions in Figma, explain why those decisions matter, and show how AI tools can support exploration, drafting, variation, and critique without replacing human design judgment.
Teaching focus
- Interface layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, typography, color, and consistency.
- Figma workflows for frames, components, variants, auto layout, and prototypes.
- Responsive interface design for web and mobile screens.
- AI-assisted design workflows, including prompt-based layout exploration, interface copy support, design variation, and critique.
- Usability awareness, accessibility basics, interaction states, and design reasoning.
- Portfolio-oriented assignment review and improvement guidance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned live online classes within a Userhub-designed learning structure.
- Use provided session briefs and learning outcomes to prepare class delivery.
- Demonstrate interface design workflows through practical examples and live critique.
- Review learner assignments and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Submit short post-session notes covering topics taught, learner questions, assignments, and issues that need follow-up.
Required profile
- Practical experience in UI design, product design, web design, or interface design.
- Strong working knowledge of Figma and modern interface design workflows.
- Ability to explain practical design decisions clearly to beginner and early-stage learners.
- Ability to demonstrate responsible use of AI tools in the design process.
Preferred profile
- Prior teaching, mentoring, workshop, agency, software company, or product team experience.
- Experience reviewing learner work, junior designer work, or portfolio projects.
- Familiarity with usability, accessibility, design systems, or product team workflows.
What this role is not
This is not a generic graphic design, Canva, AI image-generation, or visual effects training role. The instructor must be able to teach interface design as a structured practice involving clarity, usability, consistency, accessibility, responsiveness, and design reasoning.
Engagement model
This is a part-time, online live teaching opportunity. Userhub will provide the learning structure, session expectations, learner communication channel, and quality-control process. Initial engagement may begin with a short pilot block before confirmation for a full delivery cycle.
Application requirements
Applicants should submit a short expression of interest, relevant portfolio or work samples, and any available teaching or mentoring evidence.
The expression of interest should briefly answer: how would you approach teaching interface design to someone who has never designed before? Applicants may also include examples of how they use AI tools in their design workflow.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to conduct a brief live teaching demonstration.
